The standard concerns sampling of lake water, sea water and running water with low concentration of trace metals. The standard gives technical instructions for pretreatment of equipment, for contamination-free sampling (as far as possible) and for fractionation and preservation of the sample. This standard does not give instructions for planning of sampling programme.
