This specification covers resin treated glass-fiber electrical insulation for use in the insulation of electric cables.

Electrical insulation shall be of the following forms and types, as specified (see 6.2):

Tape: Type SR-1 - Coated, Frayproof (for cable sealing). Cordage: Type SR-4 - For cable installation. Type SR-4.5 - Lacing cord for cable installation. Type SR-5 - For cable installation (color coded).

intended Use:

Type SR-1 material is intended for general use in the installation of electric cables, but particularly for cable sealing in accordance with NAVSEC drawing 9000-S6200-73980.
