This specification identifies the requirements for preparation of forma Technical Directives-(TDs) used to direct the accomplishment and recording of modifications to Weapons, Weapon Systems, Support Equipment (SE), including Automatic Test Equipment (ATE), Naval Air Maintenance Trainers (NAMT), related equipment, and companion software system items procured by or for the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR).
For the purposes of this specification, Software System items include the following:
a. Digital Systems (Tactical) software.
b. Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) and Peculiar Support Equipment (PSE) software. (See 3.1.3).
c. Trainer software for:
(1) Mission Trainers (MTs)
(2) Weapon System Trainers (WSTs)
(3) Cockpit Procedures Trainers (CPTs)
(4) Operational Flight Trainers (OFTs)
(5) Naval Air Maintenance Trainers (NAMTs) Beneficial comments (recommendations, additions, deletions) and any pertinent data which may be of use in improving this document should be addressed to the Commanding Officer, Naval Air Engineering Center Engineering Specifications and Standards Department (ESSD) Code 93, Lakehurst, NJ 08733 by using the self-addressed Standardization Document Improvement Proposal (DD Form 1426) appearing at the end of this document or by letter.
