Purpose
Chapter 1 establishes provisions for administering and enforcing the code in a reasonable, appropriate and equitable manner. This chapter outlines the duties and powers of the code official; the scope of the code official's authority to enforce the code; the applicability of the document and proofs of compliance; the means of securing compliance with its provisions and procedures for protecting due process rights of applicants, owners, occupants and others affecte by the code provisions; and the enforcement activities of the code official.
