scope:
This specification covers requirements for finishes necessary to protect ground signal equipment from the deteriorating effects of climatic and service conditions encountered in military use. Finishes defined herein are applicable to complete equipment, and all parts thereof. It is intended that this document serve two purposes: first, guide designers and production engineers in the selection of compatible materials and applicable finishes; second, permit specification of an individual finish, by a particular finish number, on drawings or other media used it shop instruction.
