Cellulose Acetate Film Types QXA and QXB
Organization: | MODUK |
Publication Date: | 12 April 1957 |
Status: | active |
Page Count: | 10 |
scope:
This specification relates to cellulose acetate film, in thicknesses up to and including 0.5 mm, for tube winding. Two types, QXA and QXB are specified, distinguished by the presence of carbamite in the type QXB material. The film is normally supplied in rolls.
The designation 'Type QX' indicates that the material is suitable for certain applications where a high degree of compatibility with explosives and propellants is a requirement. However, compatibility with all explosives and propellants in all environments has not been established, and Desing Authorities should, therefore, seek advice on particular applications from the Director, Explosives Research and development Establishment, Walthan Abbey, Essex.
NOTE: The supply of Cellulose acetate Sheet (2.5 mm thick) type X is governed by specification TS 465.
