This standard applies to all military combat, special purpose and tactical transport vehicles, both tracked and wheeled. Administrative and commercial vehicles are not within the scope of this standard, since total compliance with Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (MVSS) No. 108 is required for these vehicles.
The purpose of this standard is to establish uniform requirements for lamps, reflectors and associated signaling equipment for new military vehicles, tactical, combat and special purpose.
