scope:

This Standard applies to electrically powered door opening devices and other opening and closing appliances rated at 600 V or less and intended to be used in nonhazardous locations in accordance with the Rules of the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I.

This Standard gives requirements for complete doors, gates, and other such assemblies that include electrically powered opening and closing appliances.

This Standard also specifies requirements for accessories, such as external entrapment protection devices, for use with appliances covered by this Standard.
