PURPOSE
The EIA Reproducer Test Tape, full-track one-quarter inch (6.3 mm) width, open-reel, is used for calibrating the gain, head azimuth and frequency response of full-track and multi-track open-reel audio magnetic tape reproducing equipment with a tape speed of 7.5 in/s (190.5 mm/s) and/or 3.75 in/s (95.3 mm/s). The flux vs frequency is a practical approximation to that standardized by RIAA Bulletin E-5 (1 969), and NAB (1 965). This test tape may also be used to measure the performance of reproducing heads.
