This Standard relates to a one-pack stoving paint for application to suitably pretreated metals such as those used in ammunition cylinders and boxes to provide a hard, firmly adherent and highly abrasion-resistant coating which will withstand rough handling and protect the metal against the effects of contamination with saline solutions. This paint is intended for spray application but other methods may be used, subject to agreement of the Quality Assurance Authority.

Normally two coats of paint will be specified.
