Purpose

The purpose of this Defence List is to tabulate the agreed Standard Range of Gas Cylinders (Steel) and Gas Cylinder Valves used by the Royal Navy, Army, Royal Air Force, Ministry of Aviation, Ministry of Works and the Home Office.

The Defence List provides users with a means of identification, together with information, which will enable Designers to select cylinders, or to refer to such information as size, weight and space required for the accommodation of the listed items.

The manufacturers of gas cylinders have co-operated in the compilation of this Defence List, and all the cylinders listed are standard products.
