Purpose. This regulation defines the concept of multinational force compatibility (MFC) and establishes Department of the Army (DA) policy for enhancing MFC through international military standardization and other Army security cooperation activities. The regulation also prescribes responsibilities and procedures for international military standardization activities that support MFC.

Applicability. This regulation applies to the Active Army, the Army National Guard of the United States, and the U.S. Army Reserve.
