scope:
PURPOSE. Under the authority of reference (a) and in accordance with the provisions of reference (b), this Directive:
Identifies the purpose, policies, and responsibilities for veterinary services within the Department of Defense.
Designates the Secretary of the Army as DoD Executive Agent for the DoD Veterinary Services Program.
APPLICABILITY. This Directive applies to the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Military Departments, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Office of the Inspector General of the Department of Defense, the Defense Agencies, the DoD Field Activities, and all other organizational entities in the Department of Defense (hereafter referred to collectively as "the DoD Components").
