Organization: ISO
Publication Date: 1 January 1992
Status: inactive
Page Count: 14
ICS Code (Corrosion of metals): 77.060
scope:

This International Standard specifies three methods for measuring the deposition rates of sulfur dioxide (SO2) (sulfur compounds) and airborne salinity.

It does not cover concentration measurements. The concentration of sulfur dioxide (SO2) and other pollutants in the air should be measured in accordance with standard methods, e.g. ISO 4221:1960, Air quality - Determination of mass concentration of sulphur dioxide in ambient air - Thorin spectrophotometric method.

The measurement methods included in this International Standard apply for characterization of corrosivity of the test site. The pollution data obtained by these methods are generally used for the determination of corrosivity categories.
