This Practice describes the minimum requirements for permanently mounted, topand bottom-entering agitators installed in pressurized vessels, both with and without mechanical seals.

This Practice does not cover requirements for tank mixers, portable and clamp-on, light duty agitators, in-line and jet-type mixers, and high-speed dispersers; nor does this Practice cover requirements for the installation of agitators.

Agitator data sheets, PIP RESM001-D and PIP RESM001-DM, are included with this Practice. The data sheets may be used to communicate purchaser requirements; however, supplemental information may be necessary to fully define process requirements.
