This specification describes electric, self contained, water heaters as a complete system and ensures that all system components are compatible and properly integrated with regard to size, function, and performance. The heater systems must comply with system integration requirements (see 6.9), performance, endurance, safety test procedures, shock and vibration, and standardization for installation on U.S. Naval surface ships and submarines.
intended Use:
Storage type, quick recovery, electric water heater systems are to be used onboard ships where continuous hot water generation is required.
