This Standard applies to the electrical features
(a) of gas- and oil-burning appliances and equipment;
(b) of solid fuel-burning appliances where the specific Standard for such appliances requires compliance with this Standard; and
(c) intended to be connected to supply circuits with voltages of 750 V and less, for use in nonhazardous locations in accordance with the Rules of the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I.
This Standard applies to the electrical features of appliances and equipment such as warm-air, hot-water, and steam-heating equipment, room heaters, cooking ranges, combination ranges, incinerators, industrial processing equipment, industrial heating, and cleaning machines.
This Standard sets forth requirements for fuel-burning heating equipment designed for installation and use in conjunction with refrigeration-type cooling systems (see Clause 7).
This Standard also sets forth additional requirements that apply to gas valves, oil valves, combustion controls, and other controls subjected to low and high ambient temperatures (see Clause 8).
