This Standard specifies requirements for four different styles and two classes (styles 1 and 2 only) of case for the packaging of MOD materiel up to 10000 kg gross package mass.

Style 1 and 2 cases are of board and batten, nailed construction and assembly. Style 3 and 4 cases are of panel and batten, nailed and screwed construction and bolted assembly.

These cases are designed to be constructed around the item(s) to be packaged with additional internal packing (location furniture) as required.

Information on the selection of containers in package design is included.

NOTE: It is pointed out that the supplier of a container that differs in construction (including materials, fasteners, lifting aids etc) from this specification, must ensure that the container has been tested as fit for the purpose intended.
