This specification covers construction, material, and finish requirements, design requirements and guidelines, part marking requirements, tolerances and KCC, workmanship standards, and Quality Control and Source Approval for three different types of tubing.
Note 1: The use of zinc plated tubing in long life coolant systems is not recommended. Engineering must approve the optional use of zinc-plated tubing.
Note 2: Larger diameter steel tubing (1 5/8 to 7 inches) used in engine air/fluid systems is covered in TMS-1058. Aluminum tubing used in engine air/fluid systems is covered in TMS-1059.
