This commercial item description covers the performance requirements for the quick-disconnect coupling assemblies, sexless type. The quick-disconnect, sexless couplings are used to provide a positive seal disconnect between components of an aircraft fuel servicing system. The sexless coupling assembly shall be either a valved (dry break) or valveless (wet break) straight or fitting configuration with a 2-or 3-inch sexless end connection on one end, and a 2-or 3-inch adapter end connection on the other end. The valved coupling assembly shall prevent leakage when the valve is in the closed position. The valveless coupling assembly shall not prevent leakage when the coupling half is disconnected from its attachment.
The coupling assemblies shall be of the following types and classes, as specified (see 6.1):
Type 1 Straight configuration Type 2 Fitting configuration
Class A Valved (dry break) Class B Valveless (wet break)
