INTRODUCTION
Ideally, equipment should be designed so that it is:
Movable, as required under the conditions of use.
Suitable for transport as freight by land, water, or air, and wherever possibly by all three.
Able to be transported thought the Logistic Chain without the use of special handling equipment.
The main factors to be considered by the designer are:
The conditions under which the equipment will be used.
The overall size and weight of the equipment, including any specified packaging within it may need to be contained.
The manner in which the equipment is required to be and the resulting restrictions, described in the later Sections of this Standard, which apply.
The conditions under which the equipment will be transported.
