This standard establishes minim m requirements of systems for cleaning, SUPface treating, painting and finishing of metal and wood surfaces, for use by the Ordnance Corps.
Seledion of jinish-system code numbers-The selection of a particular cleaning method, surface treatment, metal finish, and organic and inorganic coatings, as prescribed by numbers in tables I to XXIII to follow, shall be designated on drawings, in contracts and in end item specifications, by the interested procuring activity. The choice shall not be left to the manufacturer, supplier or contractor.
