Cloth-insert, rubber-sheet packing covered by this specification is intended for flange joints for water or brine services up to 250 pounds pressure and for ventilating systems.

Packing covered by this specification shall be of the following classes as specified (see 6.2.1):

Class 1 - Commercial. Class 2 - Polychloroprene rubber. Class 3 - Styrene-butadiene rubber. Class 4 - Acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber.

Packing covered by this specification shall be of the thickness specified (see 6.2.1).
