The purpose of this specification is to establish the general requirements for all Inertia-Locking, Restrainer Harness Take-Up Devices having a powered retraction mode. These devices are intended for use by aircrewmen in designated military aircraft seats during normal flight operations, as well as during and following emergency egress. The detail requirements, if different from those specified herein, shall be covered in the applicable detail specifications. The powered retraction feature of this device is intended to be used for a single operation during the pre-ejection phase of escape to automatically aid the aircrewman in positioning himself properly for ejection.
