scope:
This specification covers two types of automotive pressure switches (see 6.1). Type I switches operate when fluid pressures drop below predetermined values and type II switches operate when fluid pressures exceed predetermined values.
Switches furnished under this specification shall be of the following types and classes as specified (see 6.2). All switches shall be (waterproof).
Type I - Sufficiently low pressure closes contacts. Type II - Sufficiently high pressure closes contacts. Class 1 - High vibration (see 6.4). Class 2 - Low vibration (see 6.4).
