This ETS specifies ISUP version 1 for the international interface of CCITT Signalling System No.7.
The text of CCITT Recommendation Q.767 (1991) is endorsed as the text of the ETS, without any modification, other than the addition of this scope.
CCITT Recommendation Q.767 (1991) is intended to be applied between 2 international exchanges, or gateways, and supports the following services and supplementary services:
Bearer Services:
- 64 kbit/s unrestricted
- Speech
- 3,1 kHz audio
Teleservices:
- Telephony
- Teletex
- Telefax Gr 4
- Mixed mode
- Videotex
- Telefax Gr 2/3
Supplementary services:
- Calling Line Identification Presentation/Restric
- Connected Line Identification Presentation/Restric
- Closed User Group (CUG)
- User-to-User Signalling service 1 implicit (UUS 1 implicit)
Direct Dialling In (DDI) and Multiple Subscriber Number (MSN) are without significance to the international interface. Subaddressing (SUB) and Terminal Portability (TP) are implicitly supported, as part of the basic CCITT Recommendation Q.764 procedures.
Interworking:
Interworking between the Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) and the Public Switched Telephone Network / Integrated Digital Network (PSTN/IDN) is supported for the following services :
- Telephony
- Voice band data
- Digital connectivity
The service definition reference for CCITT Recommendation Q.767 is the CCITT Blue Book.
CCITT Recommendation Q.767 (1992) is in line with the relevant ETSI ISDN stage 1 and stage 2 service definitions when applied to the international interface.
CCITT Recommendation Q.767 (1992) consists of:
- exceptions to CCITT Signalling System No.7 ISUP Recommendations Q.761, Q.762, Q.763, Q.764 and Q.730 contained in the CCITT Blue Book, for application at the international interface;
NOTE: There is no longer an option for the international signalling interface.
- guide-lines for ISDN international interconnections giving clarification to ISUP basic call control procedures and ISUP supplementary services, guidance to the handling of Access Information (AI) and clarification for practical interconnections;
- an annex giving the amended CCITT Blue Book ISUP Recommendations for application between international exchanges.NOTE: For the purposes of this document CCITT Recommendations Q.730, Q.761, Q.762, Q.763, Q.764 and Q.767 are deemed to be normative.
