This specification covers hydraulic line filter elements which retain all particles larger than five or fifteen microns as specified and are suitable for use as specified in 6.1, and the applicable specification sheet.

Hydraulic filter elements shall be of the following type, class, styles, micron rating, and sizes, as specified (see 6.2). The hydraulic filter elements shall be noncleanable.

Type II (MIL-H-5440) - For −65° to +275°F fluid temperature range Class 3000 (MIL-H-5440) - Filter elements shall be furnished suitable for operating pressures up to and including 3,000 pounds per square inch (psi). Styles, sizes, micron rating, and part numbers shall be as specified in the applicable specification sheet.
