scope:
This specification covers certain design requirements and all performance requirements for procurement of lightweight P-3, gyro flux gate compasses.
The gyro flux gate compasses covered by this specification shall be of one type only, the lightweight P-3.
intended Use:
The P-3 compass covered by this specification is intended for use on aircraft to indicate continuously the heading of the aircraft with respect to the earth's magnetic field.
