scope:
This drawing describes the requirements for a plug-in socket for electronic components with the dual-in-line package termination for use on panel boards and printed circuit boards supplied with a surface mount capacitor to provide decoupling.
The complete part number shall be as shown in the following example:
Example: 89106-16B3A3A is a 16 pin DIP socket with gold plated contacts and gold-plated solderless wrap 3-level terminals and having a .01 microfarad surface mount decoupling capactitor and .300 inch row spacing.
The number of contacts shall be designated by a two digit number (e.g., 08 is 8 contacts, 16 is 16 contacts).
The finish shall be designated by a letter as follows:
A - Tin-lead terminals, gold plated contacts
B - Gold-plated terminals, gold plated contacts
C - Tin-lead terminals, tin-lead contacts
The terminal type shall be designated as follows:
1 - Printed circuit .125 inch nominal tail
2 - Printed circuit .180 inch nominal tail
3 - Solderless wrap (3-level) tail
The value of the decoupling capacitor shall be as follows:
A - .01 microfarad
B - .10 microfarad
C - .33 microfarad
The spacing between rows shall be designated as follows:
3 - .300 inch spacing
4 - .400 inch spacing
6 - .600 inch spacing
intended Use:
Sockets covered by this drawing are intended for use on a printed circuit board and terminals may be soldered to the printed circuit board. Only sockets and integrated circuits with... View More
