General
These Guide Specifications shall apply to bridges intended to cany primarily pedestrian and/or bicycle traffic. Unless amended herein, the existing provisions of the AASHTO Standard Specifitions for Highway Bridges, 16th Edition, shall apply when using these Guide Specifications. Either the Service Load Design or Strength Design (Load Factor Design) methods may be used.
