This specification covers requirements for musician's scarlet wool drum and bugle corps coats.

The coats will be one type in the following sizes as specified (see 6.2): Beneficial comments (recommendations, additions, deletions) and any pertinent data which may be of use in improving this document should be addressed to the Commander (PSE-D), Marine Corps Systems Command, Quantico, VA 22134-5010 by using the Standardization Document Improvement Proposal (DD Form 1426) appearing at the end of this document or by letter.

When the coat is custom tailored to an individual order, this specification will govern except that the detail requirements of Section 3, Table I, may be modified to the extent necessary for good custom tailoring practices.

The coat described herein is intended for wear by enlisted male personnel of the U.S. Marine Corps Drum and Bugle Corps (Drum Major).
