Purpose of this Specification

This document sets forth essential elements or "building blocks" of the several digital transmission systems which have found acceptance heretofore in AEEC. Equipment Characteristics. These digital transmission systems have been specified for inter-unit and inter-systems communications on board transport dircraft. The parameters specified in those Equipment Characteristics have related to the transmission medium, signal logic levels, digital word format, special digital coding, and the input and output parameters of transmitters (line drivers) and receivers.
