Purpose. This ACMP establishes uniform requirements for the configuration identification of all items designated for CM. Configuration identification shall include the selection of CIs, the determination of the types of configuration documentation required for each CI and the unique numbers and others identifiers assigned to the CIs and the CIs configuration documentation.
Applicability. This ACMP applies to NATO contractors to satisfy the general and detailed requirements of a particular CM programme.
Application guidance. It is recommended that whenever PMs require contractors to perform CM on multinational joint projects that PMs require all contractors to use the Allied Engineering Documentation Publication (AEDP), "Engineering Documentation in Multinational Joint Project" (AEDP-1), to ensure universal understanding of engineering documents (specifications, drawings and associated lists).
