FOREWORD

1. The purpose of MIL-STD-35-51(MI) is to facilitate the preparation of Military Specification Exceptions for sprockets.

2. In order to properly utilize this document, it is necessary to have a complete and thorough understanding of the basic MIL-STD-35, along with MIL-STD-35-1 for Materials, and MIL-STD-35-2 for Finishes.

3. It is important that the Procedure described in the basic document (MIL-STD-35) be followed explicitly in order for the computer to produce a document suitable for competitive procurement.
