PURPOSE
The purpose of this document is to provide a method of measuring the thermal efficiency of Convection and Other than Convection (forced circulation) swimming pool heaters.
SCOPE
This document applies to Gas-fired Swimming Pool Heaters at all inputs utilizing natural gas or propane fuel
DEFINITIONS
Annual Energy consumption means the product of appliance nameplate input and burner annual operating hours
Draft Hood A device built into the appliance, or made part of the vent connector from an appliance, which is designed to:
1 Provide for the ready escape of the flue gases in the event of no draft, back-draft or stoppage beyond the draft hood;
2 Prevent a back draft from entering the appliance
3 Neutralize the effect of stack action of the chimney or gas vent upon the operation of the appliance
