This specification relates to a stoving system of priming and finishing paints suitable for the exterior protection of steel grenades. The system is satisfactory for direct application to suitably prepared steel surfaces and gives a textured finish intended to promote manual grip of the grenade.

The designation 'LF Quality' refers to the restriction of the lead content of the material and its containers in order to permit use in an explosives or other environment where such restriction is necessary. This does not imply that this material is suitable for use in permanent contact with explosives and Design Authorities should therefore seek advice on such applications from the Director, Propellants, Explosives and Rocket Motor Establishment, Waltham Abbey.
