scope:
This specification covers the general requirements for aircraft electric motors and, together with the detail specification or with the military standard (MS) containing equivalent information, as described in 3.5.2, forms the complete specification for procurement of aircraft electric motors operable from 115/200-volt, 400-cycle, alternating current systems.
Motors shall be of the following classes, as specified (see 6.2):
Class A--Class A motors are operable under temperature-altitude
Class B--Class B motors are operable under temperature-altitude
intended Use:
This specification covers the requirements of ac motors for use in air craft 115/200V, 400 cycle, ac systems, to drive various aircraft accessories.
