The test equipment covered by this specification shall be for shop use and shall provide a simulated earth's magnetic field, shielded from the actual earth's magnetic field and all other fixed and/or variable magnetic fields, to the degree specified herein, for calibration of the Detecting Set, Magnetic, AN/ ASQ-8 and AN/ASQ-10.

The Test Set Group, Magnetic Detector Head, shall be satisfactory for use with the Test Set, Detecting Set, AN/ASM-3, and Test Set, Magnetic Detector, AN/ASM-6(*). The various units which compose the Test Set Group, Magnetic Detector Head, are listed in paragraphs 1.2.1, 1.2.2, and 1.2.3 below:
