scope:
This ETS contains the stage 1 and 2 description of the inter-working profile DECT/GSM and assumes inter-working with GSM Phase 2. Inter-working with GSM Phase 1 is outside the scope of this ETS.
The whole set of GSM services according to GSM Phase 2 is supported unless it is explicitly stated.
The DECT PP should accept the GSM SIM (there is no need for any modifications of the GSM Phase 2 SIM) and optionally a DAM with GSM AP. The functional separation of the GSM/DECT inter-working among DECT FP and PP Allows for terminal portability.
The DECT FP/GSM MSC interface is based on the GSM A-interface without any modifications. All other interfaces to non GSM-networks 1) are outside the scope of this inter-working standard.
A further ETS will cover additional requirements concerning RR-Management and other GSM specific functionalities at the GSM A-interface and is an integral part of the inner-working profile.
All roaming scenarios based on SIM roaming as described in GSM specifications are applicable. Additionally subscribers using a SIM (or DAM with GSM AP) in conjunction with a DECT PP, capable of DECT GSM inter-working may also roam among FP's connected to different GSM networks.
Handover among DECT radio access systems and GSM radio access systems implies, as well as handover among DECT cells connected to different Common Control Fixed Parts (CCFP's), which are individually linked to a MSC, is outside the scope of this interworking standard.
