This Standard, which pertains to construction work in compressed air, sets forth requirements dealing with compressors and air supply, air locks and working chambers, communication systems, lighting and electricity supply, medical facilities, identification badges, fire prevention, working periods, and decompression procedures.

This Standard applies to every shaft, tunnel, caisson, and similar type of construction project in which a worker is, or is likely to be, subjected to working in compressed air.

This Standard does not apply to divers or workers employed in diving bells (see CSA Standard Z275.2).

Note: In addition to the requirements of this Standard for the protection of workers, requirements may be prescribed by the regulatory authority.
