Purpose. This standard established criteria governing the preparation and employment of work breakdown structures for use during the acquisition (engineering and operational systems development and follow-on production) of designated defense material items.
Application
The work breakdown structure requirements established by this standard apply during the engineering and operational systems development and follow-on production of designated defense material items.
This standard is to be used by both contractors and DOD components (government activities) in the development of work breakdown structures for defense materiel items.
