scope:

Following reference (a), the enclosure is the authorizing ad reference document for all MATCALS units. It lists Navy supported ATC systems and equipment authorized for support of the Fleed Marine Force or as directed. Thse assets are designated as Strategic Expeditionary Landing Field (SELF) assets. Allowances generated by Naval Inventory Control Point (NAVICP) are in addition to those generated by this instruction.

Purpose. To identify the Navy supported Marine Air Traffic Control and Landing Systems (MATCALS) equipment required to be inventoried and maintained by Marine Air Traffic Control Detachments (MATCD) of the Marine Air Control Squadrons (MACS) and the Marine Air Traffic Control (ATC) Schools, Naval Air Technical Training Center (NATTC) Pensacola.
