This standard presents accepted practices for the cathodic protection of those metallic components of clarifiers that are in contact with pulp and paper mill effluent.

The provisions of this standard should be applied under the direction of competent persons who are qualified to engage in the practice of corrosion control. Such persons may be licensed professional engineers or persons recognized by NACE International as corrosion or cathodic protection specialists. The professional experience of such persons should include suitable experience in the cathodic protection of pulp and paper mill effluent clarifiers.
