AIM

1. The aim of STANAG 4250 is to define the NATO Reference Model for OSI, which provides the architecture for the development of NATO Technical Interoperability Standards (NTIS) for data processing and distribution systems used in NATO.

2. The aim of this part of STANAG 4250 is to provide a general description of the NATO Reference Model for OSI, to define a structure for STANAG 4250 and to establish a framework for the description of the standards which constitute the Single Architecture for NTIS (SANTIS).
