TECHNICAL MANUALS - CHECKLISTS AND SOURCE DATA PACKAGES, AIRCRAFT WEAPON DELIVERY

This specification covers the preparation and specific style and format requirements for technical manuals, checklists, and source data packages to be used for aircraft and multiple type weapon delivery. In addition to paper delivery, this specification also provides for digital delivery of data by using document type definitions (DTD). These DTDs are contained in appendixes A through J.
This document prescribes specific style and format requirements for preparation of manuals and checklists that will provide aircrews with those procedures required for planning and executing of a nonnuclear weapon delivery mission involving bombs, rockets, guns, missiles, spray tanks, dispenser munitions, and training or special purpose devices related to weapon delivery.
This document also covers the preparation requirements for manuals and checklists used in the delivery of nuclear bombs from strategic bomber aircraft and tactical aircraft, and air-to-surface missiles from strategic bomber aircraft. The level of detail contained in this performance specification is necessary to comply with the requirements of the Joint Computer-aided Acquisition and Logistics Support (JCALS) system.
The markup tags described herein are based on rules outlined in MIL-PRF-28801 and the Information Processing - Text and office Systems - Standardized General Markup Language (SGML) document, International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 8879, as incorporated in Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) Pub 152.
