SOCKETS, (LEAD, ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS), GENERAL SPECIFICATION FOR

This specification covers the general requirements for individual lead sockets, for insertion through mounting boards or panels.
Lead sockets shall have terminals of the following types, as specified (see 3.1 and figure 1).

Sockets shall not be used in applications requiring use of integrated circuits that have been screened to class S reliability levels of MIL-STD-883, Test Methods and Procedures for Microelectronics, and they shall not be used in applications requiring integrated circuits screened to class B levels other than fixed ground installations for which they have been specifically approved by the contracting activity.View Less
