scope:

this Standard applies to packages for drugs and anyu other substances, in either liquid or solid form, that incorporate a reclose able child-resistant feature(s) whereby children are restricted in their ability to gain access to the contents of the package

This Standard includes requirements for the construction, performance, child-resistant effectiveness, adult-use effectiveness, marking, and instructions to be provided with such child-resistant packages

This Standard describes the physical test that shall be used as a minimum to ensure that subsequent production lots conform to this Standard

This Standard does not apply to non reclose able packages or features that are covered by CSA Standard Z762

The correct Interpretation of Clauses depends on the interpretation of the words "shall", "should", and "may", "shall" is mandatory, "should" is recommendatory; "may" is permissive

Annexes, figures, tables, and accompanying legends are mandatory; the appendix and notes are not mandatory
