This standard applies to reciprocating saws (jig and sabre saws).
For the purpose of this standard, a jig saw is the type generally used for cutting patterns in lumber and is generally held by one hand, a sabre saw is generally used in demolition work cutting openings in walls, or ceilings, or in construction for cutting pipes and the like, and is always held with both hands.
