This Standard specifies the size, colour, form and location of servicing, ground handling, safety/hazard, maintenance, and arming symbols for use on all Service aircraft, ground support equipment, and guided weapons systems.
The symbol marking of guided weapons systems is governed by Def Stan 08-5 Chapter 6.101 which shall be read in conjunction with this Defence Standard when such equipment is to be marked.
Because of the variations in the size and distribution of servicing points the requirements of this Defence Standard should be interpreted liberally.
