Introduction and Scope

This document provides guidance on the interpretation of the requirements found in the second editions of AQAP-11O (NATO Quality Assurance Requirements for Design, Development and Production), AQAP-120 (NATO Quality Assurance Requirements for Production), and AQAP- 130 (NATO Quality Assurance Requirements for Inspection and Test).

Because of the multiplicity of conditions that can exist (dependent on such factors as the type of work or process, the machines or devices used and the skill of personnel involved), this guidance should not be considered as imposing specific means or methods for meeting contract requirements.

The QAR must be aware that other means could be used by the contractor to meet these requirements. This AQAP is not intended as a procurement document. Its content has no contractual status nor does it supersede, add to or cancel any of the requirements. Copies of this guide may be made available to contractors to facilitate their understanding of the requirements and as a guide for use in the review of their own systems or those of their sub-contractors
